I was recently commissioned by a local consortium of Arts for Health charities to create illustrations for stages in a journey of somebody living with Mental Health issues. The journey led to this person regaining their confidence, and taking part in new creative activities.
As some of you may know, I work for an Arts for Health charity, which means that I work very closely with people who are living with mental health issues, so mental health is something I feel quite strongly about, especially when it comes to reducing stigma and discrimination.
I was delighted to work on these illustrations as it gave me a chance to work on a series featuring the same focal character
I also tried out a new process, using tracing paper, to achieve a smooth line without pencil marks, in preparation for scanning. I found this paper extremely satisfying to draw on, it is so smooth!
